SOOOOO SOOOOORRRRRYYY :(:(:(

Okay so I have been away for an inexcusably long time. Sorry. I was wrapped up in work, a summer course, and of course New Leaf. I will be done with my summer class tomorrow and hopefully will be back with some cool screenshots from my town so that maybe you will forgive me! If you see this you are amazing for looking at my blog after all this time.

Until Next time...Love you my crossers!

Youtube Channel

Okay guys I FINALLY got around to making my youtube channel. My first video seems to have been a flop but its a 3ds vs 3ds XL comparison if you are interested and it includes some cool old school Animal Crossing music! Today I filmed my first recipe video that will also be on the channel as soon as I get time to edit it (hopefully tonight).

I also saw that on "The Bell Tree" some people had been playing Magician's Quest: Mysterious Times (which has a lot of similarity to the AC series) to pass the time and I picked it up myself and I am actually really liking it and think it will definitely help me pass the time. I think I am going to try to do a game play overview video of that very soon as well in case any of you may be interested in playing it while you wait. It only cost about $7 at Gamestop so for that price it was a steal.

I have exams this week and need to hit the books so again sorry there hasn't been much new contact but I hope you will subscribe to my youtube channel and enjoy. Requests welcome as always!

Until next time! Here's the Link to my first video!

Getting Closer!

Well...we are getting there. 40 more days. This week is my last week of classes and next week I have my finals so I am staying busy for now. After that...I don't know. Definitely want to have some fun but I am also hoping to find another job and start making some decent money again though! Another thing is that I think I am going to be launching my youtube channel this week or at least by the end of next. It will not be strictly gaming but there will be categories to keep everything separated

One of the first videos I want to do is for my fitness portion of the blog, tomorrow morning I will be trying two-ingredient pancakes. I am following weight watchers (sort-of) and have been craving pancakes but do to a bad cheat day I cannot afford the extra points so this might be a perfect solution!

The other (more gaming related) videos I plan to make are my 3ds vs 3ds XL comparison video and a "What's on my 3ds" video.

Hope that I'll get some views and maybe some more traffic to this blog because of the channel.

HAPPY WAITING :P

New Printable!

The New Leaf 50 to go printable is now available! (Sorry I am a little late my fellow North Americans!) It isn't really as fancy or special as I had hoped because I have been really busy latley...but its something. Hope you enjoy! 50 To Go Countdown

Monday, April 8, 2013

Hey guys! Sorry it has been so long!

Sorry I haven't posted much I have just been getting super busy with college. I only have 4-5 weeks left of the semester so things are getting hectic. I DO however have plans for future post. We are inching closer and closer to the release date and I am getting so excited! I think that when I get some time I am going to make a countdown for 50 days to go. I made some calendar pages in the past (click the printable link on the left if you haven't checked those out yet!) but this one will be an "actual" countdown as someone suggested. Also I hace some other ideas...I just dont know if they suck. I have been wanting to start a youtube channel for some time. I definitely plan to film an unboxing and reaction video the day of the release and maybe if that is successful I will do some more gameplay. Until then I was thinking of making a video comparing my 3ds and 3ds XL because I have noticed a lot of people on Animal Crossing forums are debating on which to get or whether or not they should upgrade. Another thing I was considering is doing a "Animal Crossing beginner series" by using Wild World to show the basics of the game and to hopefully attract new comers to the game. Just let me know what you think of any of this and hopefully Ill have more time soon to bring you some quality post!

Printable Countdown Calendar is here! :)

Check it out on my "PRINTABLES" page!

The Future of this Blog:

Okay guys, this blog may not be getting the attention I had hoped for yet but I am not giving up yet! In fact I am stepping it up! I've been faced with a challenge: there are 88 days left until New Leaf is released in North America...how do I go about building up my blog when it is so far away and I'm running out of new things to blog about related to the game?
Well I've come up with several solutions:

1) FREE PRINTABLES!!! I am currently working on a New Leaf Countdown printable for NA, (can be adapted for the other regions) which should be available sometime this week. I am also thinking of doing some cute printable checklist for bugs, fish, and fossils. (Other requests/ideas welcome)

2) Wild World Journal To help pass the time I have started playing Animal Crossing Wild World over again. I have a rather new town so I will blog about that from time to time. I am also thinking of starting a youtube channel showing some of the basics of AC to try to get new players into the game  and help them along the way.

3) Guides Not sure about this yet but I was thinking of making some basic guides such as for bell-making.

Please let me know what you think of these ideas and any suggestions you may have. Thanks for reading and don't forget to vote in te poll!

It's been awhile...

Well my midterms are finally behind me and I think they went okay...hopefully. Theres stuff I need to get done before I start another week tomorrow but for now I am just gonna relax and try to make a decent post here :)

I am having one of those days where I am feeling extra impatient for New Leaf. It might be because of Lin and Ko's new video. I am just getting so excited about all of the new things there are to do in this game and I really cannot wait to get started! It feels like time is starting to move faster but there are still 90 days left...but hey its only 3 months WE CAN DO IT!

***SPOILER ALERT***

Here are some of the things that I am excited to do in New Leaf:

Collect all golden and silver tools: Although this isn't really a new feature I am still excited because there are new benefits such as the watering can being able to water 9 flowers at once! I have also never gotten the golden net or fishing rod so I plan to set that as a long term goal this time.

Complete the Museum: same deal as above, I have always gotten lazy and never completed my museum...this time I plan to actually work on it so that I can enjoy this game for a long long time.

Get a Perfect Town: I have set out many times to complete a perfect town in past games but I have never achieved it in WW or CF. I think this time I will try to do it early on since that is when I will be most glued to the screen.

Collect all Medals: This is a new feature in New Leaf that I love because it give more goals to reach! I haven't looked too deeply into it because like I have said before I am trying to leave a few surprises but I do know that you get medals for things like fishing and bug catching once you reach a certain number of catches.

Obviously there are many more goals such as getting all shops, upgrading my house, getting my ideal house exterior, collecting holiday sets....etc. I hope that the rest of this school year goes by quick and June will get here soon because I really cant wait!

Well...

I definitely did not get 20 voters this week. It was a bit inconclusive but it seems most people either had an XL or wanted on of some kind. I don't really have much time to come up with a good post this week because It is my midterms week which I really need to nail! That said I just didn't want to go postless this week. If anyone has any request or ideas of what I should blog on next week or what the next polling question should be add a comment and I will try to address it! See ya soon!

Help, I can't decide what to do!

I bought a 3ds over the summer because I expected New Leaf to be out by now and that was the main factor in me buying one. Shortly after...the 3ds XL came out. At first I thought the XL was dumb and I had no interest...but after I saw it in person my 3ds screen started seeming tiny in comparison. I don't play it daily or anything at the moment just Harvest Moon, Pokemon, or Mario 3d Land once or twice a week maybe. However when summer gets here I will have more time to play and especially when New Leaf comes out I will be spending a lot of time looking at those screens. I am also probably going to get Luigis Mansion and Pokemon X or Y so now I am thinking it might be worth it...plus I am in the process of convincing my boyfriend to give New Leaf a try--so maybe having two 3ds's would be fun! I am planning to wait until New Leaf is released to decide incase they release a bundle...but In all honesty I think I would rather the pink one. Plus my tax money will be in soon and it is reeeaaally tempting me (I have a thing for impulse buys lol).

What to do, what to do....

Heads up this entry isn't 100% Animal Crossing related...but it does relate to what I am doing to help the time pass while I wait for the release date and give some info on me if you're interested. Since the release date has been announced I haven't been spending quite as much time on Animal Crossing forums or watching as many gameplay videos (though its probably still too much) but I am still just as anxious for June 9th.

I have decided that I am going to run my first 5k at the end of April and have just started training. I used to be a swimmer in high school but now (my second year of college) I am out of shape and missing being athletic. I really hope that training for this race will be the motivation I need to lose some of my extra weight and get fit for summer! I also bought a kettle bell kit that I got for a STEAL at Target because I heard that is supposed to be an intense and effective workout.  Hey I have to wait until summer for New Leaf anyway...might as well get fit in the meantime right?

This is the kettle bell I got in case you are interested the bundle of this with the dvd is normally $30 but It was on clearance at my target for like $9.
Plus I have to train so that I can run from Tom Nook if need be:

And so I can look good when I go for a swim and hang out on the beach:

Oh and also so that I can pick myself up when I inevitably stumble into a pitfall:

Speaking of pitfalls, I have/am in the process of inventing a game with them (I am working out some of the details in City Folk but I will most likely wait until New Leaf comes out and show off  the final version in a gameplay video!)

Interesting Picture #1 and #2

Alright first of all I want to give a shout out to my first ever commenter, the author of Turning Over a New Leaf. She also said some kind things about my blog which made me feel pretty good. I hope that we can play together in the future when New Leaf is released and maybe get some more material for our blogs from that gameplay as well.

Next, I just want to put a nod to my new countdown clock at the top of this page, sorry if the hour and stuff is off it is 1)set to my time zone and 2) I was unable and/or didn't have the patience to find one without hours on it.  :P

Anyways....on to the subject of today's post: I felt bad because I have been neglecting pictures...which is the best part so I have decided that when I come across some interesting pictures I am going to post them and analyze them a bit so here it goes.

Basically this one just shows how nice the museum looks in New Leaf. I also think some of these fish are new! (The one with the red fins in the front at least) ABOUT TIME! We needed new fish to catch!

This one appears to be a shooting star. Its pretty interesting because that star is so close it has led me to believe that one of these theories is true:
A) The cliffs are now SO high that you are practically in space
or
B) That is not a shooting start, but rather a meteor that narrowly missed this New Leaf character and is headed for a crash landing....scary!

(I mean hey...might as well make up some theories while we wait huh?)

Release Date...Now What?

So now that we've gotten a release date I have somewhat taken back my life...haha. But now I'm not sure what to do...June just seems so far away. Thankfully I have a busy semester that should help the time go by fast but just incase I might pick up Luigi's Mansion when it comes out. I am also thinking about posting a bell making guide. It will be a little unpolished since I will be relying solely  on my experiences in the past games but I will definitely add new information after the release of New Leaf.

I AM PROUD TO ANNOUNCE:

Animal Crossing New Leaf has an official North American release date! It will be available June 9, 2013! It was announced during the Nintendo Direct this morning. Although its later than I expected and therefore a little disappointing, I'm just glad to know the date after all this time. I was expecting more April/May but at least I'll be done with school and settled into my summer routine...whatever that may be. Wooohoo! Big N says there's more info to come on a mysterious "NA exclusive feature" closer to release.

Oh yeah and HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY :)

My Top Five Favorite Features/Additions that are new to Animal Crossing New Leaf

5.) Mayorship- This is the big twist the series needed. The opening game play was always the same...moving on your own for the first time and working for Tom Nook to pay off debt and frankly that was getting old. Now FINALLY we have a change. No longer are we in Nook's shadow. There will be lots of new tasks for us to complete now which should definitely add some lifespan to the game.

4.) QR Codes- I always enjoyed making patterns but I just don't have the talent or patience to make really nice ones like I'd see online. It will be very convenient to be able to scan QR codes and use them in my town, especially for pathways!

3.) Personal Museum Exhibit Rooms- This is something I never expected but is something I "subconsciously" was looking for. I always like to make my house "homey" so I always have all these things I want to display but don't want to take up space in a house for. I have some cool ideas that I will keep secret for now, but some of the other things I may do are display the Nintendo/Mario items, as well as the Animal Crossing models and in-game awards.

2.) New Furniture Items- This is the main thing that made me furious about City Folk! Although it did get free DLC items which was kind of Nintendo, it lacked new items out the box. I felt like I was limited to making the same exact rooms as I had already done in Wild World. New Leaf has several new furniture series as well as many new furniture items. On top of that we were also told that we would get free DLC once again. Hooray!

1.) Community Projects- This one is my favorite because of the longevity I think it will give to the game. The projects are fairly expensive so I think it will give more reason to play longer. Theres so many more needs for bells in this game, shops to open, decorations to place...it's pretty exciting. Its also my number one because its something I wanted ever since I played the Gamecube version...I remember being so mad when I tried to put my hammock outside and it dropped as a LEAF. Now I can finally have my outdoor hammock!

Welcome to Well of Bells!

Hey guys, my name is Kacy and I am a huge fan of the Animal Crossing series! I have played every (North American) installment of the series. As soon as I picked up the Game Cube version I fell in love with the series. The last installment, City Folk was fun and it still gave me enjoyment, but my interest in it dwindled a lot faster than with the other two because of the lack of new features.

BUT! Now there is a new installment to the series: Animal Crossing:NEW LEAF. Unlike City Folk, this title seems to be everything I have ever wished for in a new Animal Crossing game! I am so excited for this release, I can't even contain myself. Which is why I have decided to start this blog.

I have decided to blog throughout my New Leaf journey. I will upload pictures and possibly even video from my gameplay. I will also be posting tips and strategies along the way for those who may be new to the series, as well as some links to some other Animal Crossing blogs and forums that I find helpful/entertaining. I am currently working on a Bell-Making guide that should launch before the NA release date and will be improved upon after the release. Please ask questions and make request in the comments and I will adress those in my future posts!

See ya soon!
